SSH is a protocol implemented by other programs to securely access our computer from another.To use SSH, you need to have a SSH client installed on the computer you're connecting from, along with a SHH server. Here, we don't mean another physical machine that serves data! SSH server is just a software.
You may now being asking what programs to use with SSH?
Well, there is a lot of programs, but the most popular program to use with SSH in linux is the open SSH program; and with windows, the open source program PUTTY.
Did you hear about RDP before?
What you should know now, is that Microsoft actually provides another way to connect to other computers, and is what's called RDP that stands for Remote Desktop Control.
There is also a RDP clients for linux, OSx too like "real VNC"& Microsoft RDP on MAC.
