IT: Programs & Hardwares -> Peripherals & Bios
Peripherals:
Let's talk about USB that stands for Universal Serial Bus.
- USB 2.0: Transfer speed of 480 mbs/s
- USB 3.0: Transfer speed of 5 Gb/s
- USB 3.1: Transfer speed of 10 Gb/s
In general, USB 2.0 are black ports, USB 3.0 are blue ports, & USB 3.1 are teal ports.
PAY ATTENTION
MB is megabyte ( unit of data storage) don't confuse it with Mb/s that is megabit per second, which is a unit of data transfer rate.
1 byte is 8 bits, so to transfer 1 MB in a second you need 8 Mb/s connection speed!
Bios:
Installed in ROM chip, & it's how CPU talks to other components.
Today's systems uses another bios player called: UEFI that stands for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface.
